Summer is winding down to an end, and trust me, I’m crying inside. The end of summer also means you still have the long Labor Day weekend to look forward to. Sometimes my favorite type of vacation is a stay-cation. A vacation where you’re not always on-the-go or you don’t have any agendas to stick to. Especially on holidays like Labor Day, all prices and crowd drastically increase (you’ll thank me later for the staycation guide)! I love fitting in a stay-cation when I can, and I like to mix up the routine each time so it doesn’t feel like a lame day stuck at home. So here’s my guide to the Ultimate STAY-CATION!
Enjoy Your AM
Whether you wake up at the same time everyday or want to sleep in a little longer, you should definitely enjoy your morning the way you want to! I am trying to be more productive in the morning, so I try (keyword: try) to wake up the same time to spend my morning with Hershey or to catch up on a book. On days when I am extra dedicated, I would go out for a 30 min jog to feel refreshed and ready to start my morning.
Eat Something that Makes YOU HAPPY!
I like to say I live a pretty well-balanced diet, I like to eat clean on most days but I’m not scared to eat my heart out when I feel like it. My favorite thing to eat during the day when I have time to prepare are acai bowls. They’re so refreshing and yummy, it’s pretty much everything in a bowl. I buy the frozen packets called Sambazon from Costco or Sprouts, it’s organic and all you need to do is blend it with coconut water or your favorite juice along with any fruits you’d like! If you haven’t yet tried an acai bowl, do it!
Surround Yourself with BEAUTIFUL People!
This headline is very subjective, but my type of beautiful people are the ones that make me happy and keep me motivated. As much as I enjoy my “me time”, I love having company to enjoy the moments with. My friend, Alison, is the perfect example of that. She has the sweetest heart and an angelic approach to life, and also a great photographer (hence why she’s not photographed). Thanks, Alison! 🙂
Have the Perfect Ending
There are days when I just want to spend the rest of my night binge watching Netflix, and others when I would pamper myself and do a face mask or paint my nails. Whatever it is, it’s YOUR night and no one is judging! Find the perfect way to end your night that will leave you feeling refreshed the next morning!
I now look forward to a stay-cation just as much as traveling to a destination. Especially since I live with my sister and brother-in-law, having the house to myself while they’re on vacation is a MAJOR plus! I also find myself feeling ready to conquer work the next day instead of being drained and jet-lagged. Hope you enjoyed my guide to my PERFECT STAY-CATION!
