This was my first time traveling to Japan, but the best part was doing it with my dad. We have such a big family that it’s rare to take any father-daughter trips. Japan is quite an overwhelming country with so much to see and so many challenges to overcome, but all I could do was take it all in. The metro system is nothing short of intimidating, and the language barrier can be a little difficult. However, everyone we have asked for help have been truly amazing and not shy to do whatever they can to help us.
The Shinkansen and metro system are super convenient, but I failed to research the price of the Shinkansen beforehand, it’s about $115/person one way. The Shinkansen takes you anywhere from Tokyo to Kyoto to Osaka in about 4 hours. It’s like going from LA to SF for the same amount of time!
We went to a lot of museums and temples, but we rarely went in unless it was free.
I’ve had these in Little Tokyo in LA before with red beans inside. This one has custard inside, and I was down to try the OG ones.
Pretty much any cross streets in Japan.
This was definitely not my last trip to Japan. Japan is my dad’s favorite destination place, and the last time he was here was over 30 years ago when he was barely dating my mom! This was definitely a trip to remember.
